Thanks for the help in this crossover design to this forum, especially haemphyst and DYohn (previous posts here and here).  The dipole rear surrounds are set up and finished and perform as well as I hoped they would.  I made them to work well with a Pro-Logic receiver and to compliment the main speakers.  Finished in textured black paint with a high gloss Apple Red front.  The crossover is mounted underneath the ported chambers and open to the bottom.  A few pics to show it:

I moved the crappy Bose rears into center channel duty, replacing the crappy Lanzar that had occupied that spot.  Better results, but my next project will be a center channel to finish it up.  Sub bass is being adequately handled by a powered KLH unit.  The mains are a plug-and-play Frankenstein project that turned out very good considering that I didn't tweak the borrowed crossover.  It and the tweeters are what remain of a pair of CW model D-9 speakers that I once had.  The towers started life as mass-produced put-it-together bookshelves (yes, for books), and the Vifa 6.5 woofer and Dayton aluminum cone mids were plugged in to replace the original mids and subwoofer.  The crossover for the Vifas is being handled at the subwoofer, so actually I ended up with a 4-way main system.  Works well for music, and now with the new rears movies take on a new life.  The surround sound seems to come from all around the back of the room now, and works to get rid of the localization of the sound that I was experiencing before.  Thanks, guys, for getting me over some hurdles.

Nicely done!  Congrats and I'm happy you are happy with the sound.  That's all that really matters, eh?  Now a nice MTM center channel project to compliment your mains...

Thanks, DYohn.  I'll be using the same Dayton mids for that, and I believe I understand enough about crossovers now to be able to figure out a workable unit.  I appreciate all I've learned from you.  Audio in general has always been an interest, but now it's a hobby!

WELL DONE! I love the look of the red - GREAT contrast... I am glad I could help, and I hope you enjoy your system!
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Thanks for your time and effort in designing the crossovers, haemphyst.  You took me from Duh! to Huh!.  Here are the finished xovers.
