The right half of the display on my Excelon receiver has vertical lines covering any data.  I have tried cleaning the contacts, and that helped briefly, but now that it is cold, the problem seems here to stay.  I'm assuming the contacts are worn alittle, and the cold makes them pull apart.  The only options I can think of are either taking it to a shop to have it looked at, or scrapping it.  I really don't want to scrap it, because I like the features, but I also don't want to spend $100 or $200 to fix it.  It functions fine, but only being able to read half the text is annoying.  Am I SOL, or am I missing another option?

Try putting the faceplate on top of 1 of your vents with the heat on for like 15 seconds. This makes the plastic expand & might make the face stick better. I had a old pioner with the same problem, This worked like a charm for me, but does get annoying.

Yeah, I noticed the problem gets better as the heater is on longer.
