I need your opinions on the Nakamichi MB-VI 6 Head unit.
Here is a page with a description of it:
Nakamichi MB-VI 6
Tell me what you guys think of it.
How does it compare to the much more expensive Nakamichi CD-700II ?
This HU is going into a sound quality installation in an Infiniti Q45.
Thanks for your help.

aslo, how does the Nak MB-VI 6 compare to the Nak cd-500 or the Nak cd-400 ?
The entire system is only going to consist of Nakamichi equipment. Do you guys/girls have any other Nakamichi decks that would be good?
I just read on the link that I provided above that the preamp out signal is only 1 volt ! That seems way too low. Would that even be acceptable to send a signal to an amplifier in the trunk?

The good lord as well as everyone else knows i love Nakamichi to death, but the MBVI just doesn't cut the mustard. Fantastic SQ, but the side effect is its efficiency. Their are way to many mechanical malfunctions with it, as the six CD changer breaks quite frequently inside it. When it works though it is great. You see them all the time on Ebay either broken or refurbished though. I do not recommend them. As for the CD-500, i have never heard it. I have heard the 400 and i'll tell you it is a great head unit. Clear as a whistle, but it still is a step behind the former model, the CD-45z, which had a little better SQ (wasn't flashy either). Well no nak HU is flashy actually! The CD-700ii is arguably the best SQ Head Unit ever created, as i highly recommend it. It sounds so fantastic it sets a new standard to your ears! I highly recommend the following Nak Hu's: CD-45z, CD400, CD700ii. Hope this helped.
"I don't play games. I play Nakamichi and that for real yo" - Probably some japanese kid said this in the early 80's trying to sell stereo out of his trunk lol.
