Hi all,

I just installed my JVC SH909 into my 02 grand caravan.

I double and triple checked the wires from the harness and kit and stock harness... and made sure they all matched up. the deck Powers on, plays the files, but then there would be no sound to the speakers...

My Caravan dosn't have the optional inifiniti system, so there is no amp... and I checked my stock harness, there is no cord for connecting to the amp neither.

There is only the PCI Bus wire that is not connected to any thing... am I suppose to connect this to my JVC?

can any one help and solve my problem :(

it plays both

i should mention

the deck powers on and plays both CDs and raido fine (u can see the EQ graphics jumping), but there would be no sound to the speakers.

I plugged the unit into my friend's car and it works fine.. and then right back into the van and there would be no sound again :(

maybe the amp in the jvc is no good.

or maybe u need a seperate external amp for that model jvc.

check for a amp anyway, check under the seats and the far rear panels.

just 3 ideas on my part.

there is no amp.. i have the stock AM/FM CD deck.. not the infitini deck.. and the stock harness does not have a blue w/ white 12V wire for powering up the amp :S

u can try pop testing the speaker wires and see if anything a hapens.

get your self a 9volt battery and take the speaker wires from the fornt drivers door get the neg and pos and put them to the 9volt baterry. one wire on each terminal. if u here the speaker may a crackle noise then it should play. then i have no idea but try that with each speaker.

there is a chance u wired it wrong. it happens. try that with each pair of speakers. like i said if they crackle then it is right but if u hear nothing then u take it from there.

Open your fuse box under the hood and look inside the cover for a relay titled NBS. If you have a relay in the socket, you have a factory amp. Post back if so and I will tell you how to make it work.

2 things to check being that its a Caravan. First make sure that if you have a grounding strap, that there isnt another wire that was attached to it before that also needs to be grounded, I have seen that before. Also if you are using the adapter harness put the blue power antenna wire on the harness to the blue white wire off the deck. Sometimes it needs to be powered to get the speakers to play, regardless of whether its the infinity system or not.

Hi there,

I just checked the fuse box and yes there is a reply in the NBS socket.

and I went to the place where i picked up the kit and harness adaptor, the guy there told me there should be an amp too. But he was amazed when I told him that on my stock stereo harness, there isn't a wire that's suppose to power on the amp.

so what should I do? :(
