Possible damaged sub JL12W3V2.

ok i have a jl 12w3v2 in a ported box running off a Alpine mrv t 320 amp at 4 ohms at 220RMS. Anyways i dunno if this noise was always their or it just started happing. Their is a weird whistling type noise coming out of the sub  or sub box not 100% sure. When i put my ear near sub when its pounding, not too loud, i hear the bass its moving liek it should. When u are at the back of the car with trunk open u here this weird arse whistling noise . Is the sub damaged? I looked at the box at the box their is about 40 tiny holes about 1mm in diameter in a rectanular shape when i put my ear near em i think i hear the whistle or w.e noise comign from them ? Is this the possibilty that those holes are so tiny that when air coems outt of em it makes weird whistling noises? When you blow in a whistle you are pushing air through a tiny hole from what i think. Whem im in the car drivign and have it pouding you dont notice this noise only when i go and open the trunk, which i rarely do. Should i seal these holes? From the box it looks like they were always their i bought this used and never noticed the holes on the back of the box cuz the carpet sort of covered it but now that i look at it i can stick a toothpick throughthe holes about 3 tooth picks.  What should i do?  i just bought a new amp for this sub although it hasnt arrived yet i doubt my alpine amp is bad. Is it possible the driver has gone bad. As when i put the volume up the car and turnk still rattle and bass soudns nice from inside cabin.

how can i possible destroy the sub ? im gonna seal the hoels first to make sure its the box then ill buiild a new box when i have time building a box is gonna take some time.
