OK I am just getting into this and I've done the low down reading of how stuff works to a minor degree. I was wondering, can anyone explain the basics for what stats to look for to tell me how good a speaker is? Obv power=good, to a degree. How do you know when to use ported or sealed exactly? (I'm looking towards top performance of the setup, not just "sealed takes care of all fields, what does ported work best for?) Also can someone explain to me exactly what the difference between a 2 ohm and 4 ohm speaker is? Obviously different amount of resistance which changes the heat being made losing some power, but how does that affect the acoustic values? (Assuming you aren't gonna burn your wire up somehow obv.) Ok I think that is all for now. I'm sure these sound kinda dumb, I just find that a lot of people have opinions concerning speakers being better than one another and I was wondering if there is something that the little stat sheets will say for the speaker regardless of human opinion. (500 W Rms is most likely gonna be better than 100 W Rms if I atleast understand that right.)

SOrry for double post but I figured it might be easier to mention I'd prefer like someone really experienced with some free time maybe talking 1 on 1 and kinda mentoring me. I'm in Ohio(EST or EDT, whichever we are on now.) AIM is most preferable, email is ok. LMK ASAP plz!

No 1 on 1 mentoring available, sorry.  I would suggest you read www.bcae1.com  in it's entirety.  You'll get a very good understanding of what it's all about, and the site is so good it's just like having a mentor.

I did read the site in its entirety. It doesn't really go into any advanced knowledge or anything, just the scientific side of functionality.
