I need to put a Kenwood CD changer in the back of a wagon.....the remote only has a 2.2m cable. Is there any way to lengthen these? OR......does Kenwood make an extention cable?

I'm tempted to cut the cable and graft in an extention, but as this changer is an FM modulated, I wasn't sure about noise, etc.....issues that I may make.

What think ye?

Thanks for the help.

Splicing the wire may be difficult since you doun't know what kind of connector you need,  if the connector needs to be 50 ohms or 75 ohms,  what kind of wire to use and if the wire needs to be 50 ohm or 75 ohm.  I really think that the changer needs to be by the driver, I would hate to pull over and get out of the car to change out 1 CD.

Actually, what the changer will be used for is basically a jukebox of MP3 discs.

The car already has an in-dash CD player so these wouldn't be changed that often.

But yeah.....your comment on 50/75 ohm connector is something that crossed my mind. I can't imagine Kenwood wouldn't make an extention - course who'd know - they really don't have any tech-info places to ask.

looks like it will most likely be the Kenwood CA-C2EX.

The wire I need to lengthen is the one that goes to the digital display controller - not sure if Kenwood even makes an extention for that or not......but would be nice if they did.
