Hi,
I have a 94 Ford Taurus. I purchased and aftermarket stereo and harness about 6 months ago and installed it. Everything was working great until the other day (first day of snow, go figure), when I got in my car and the speakers simply did not work. The headunit powers on and everything appears to be working, CD's play, radio picks up a signal, but still no sound from any of my speakers. There is no popping or static, just complete silence.
I pulled out my headunit and made sure all of the wires were secure and none of them happened to be touching eachother, and they are look fine. This is beyond frustrating... Any ideas?

How many speakers do you have the headunit working?
First, look for a reset button and see if that you get you out of this. If not continue to the next approach...
Disconnect all your speaker connection at the harness and use another speakers besides the one that in your and see if you are getting sound from your headunit. If no sound headunit is your problem.
Check your factory amp. If you factory amp is not working you will not get any sound. If you got a build in factory amp, check your blue white wire from your headunit and see if it powers up.
If you don't have a build in factory amp or digital mulitimeter. Use a 9V battery to test your speakers and see you if you are getting any popping sound out of it. If not, one of your speaker might be grounded which is causing the headunit to go into potection mode to prevent itself from futher damage. If that is the case replace the speakers.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.No sound from speakers-Headunit working? -- posted image.

Some Fords come with 2-ohm speakers from the factory.  Are you using the OEM speakers?  Could be they overloaded the amp in your new HU.
