After years of being without a 'system', I'm returning to my passion of hi-fi musik in the car (where I spend my most time).
I'm debating between:
Rainbow CS 365 Profi Vanadium
http://car.rainbow-audio.de/products/details.php?lan=3&pro=1&lin=3&art=231533
and
Focal 165W 3
http://www.focal.tm.fr/gb/car/utopia/165w3.htm
for the front and a 2pc set for the rear in my VW Golf. The guy at the shop here was trying to rattle my bones and insists I need a $2000 McIntosh to make the speakers sing, I get a feeling I get get away with something cheaper. Anybody have good suggestions for a 4-channel amp that can run these? Thanks.

Have you listened to the two choices, or are you going by reputation, price and opinions of others?  There are a lot of fine amps that will power either of the two brands.  What will the entire system goal be?  Usual SQ:  HU, front components, subwoofer, rears (maybe)?

Going mostly by reputation. I've heard the Focal K2s but never the Utopia's. It's almost impossible to find places that sell them around here, much less have a demo up you can listen to.
I love the sound of German manufactured speakers in general which is why I'll probably stick with Rainbow. I did hear some Arc Audio's once that the guy told me were Rainbow components at heart and they sounded awesome. I used to love MB Quarts back in the day and still love their tight high and low sounds. I listen to pretty much all kinds of musik. Electronic, classical, hip-hop.
Goal:
The entire system will be something like,
Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9833
Amp: ?
Components Front: Rainbow above or Focal.
Components Rear: Same as above but 2 pc versions.
Subwoofer: JL Stealthbox 10"
Sub Amp: ?

I have heard the Rainbows(pro fi) paired with an Arc Audio 4050, sounded wonderful. So would that McIntosh though. I am still waiting for my CMX's to come.
