I recently upgraded the factory deck in my 2004 Silverado (4 speakers, NOT the bose stereo). I used the harness which relocates the factory deck, and maintains all the functions annoyingly controled by the factory unit.

It all went very smoothly, and was very easy to wire the aftermarket deck into the add-on harness. The problem that I've run into is that there is no sound coming from the left front speaker. The right front and rear speakers work fine. I've checked and double checked my wiring with no success, all seems to be correct.  Also, if i pop a CD into the relocated factory deck, the problem is reversed. The right front speaker is dead and the left front and rear speakers work fine.

Anyone have any idea what may be causing this problem?

Kinda sounds like something to do with the wiring to me.Maybe something to do with the antenna turn on,or the amp turn on.Did you hook up these wires at all?

Thanks for the help guys, this problem has really got me stumped. I've ruled out the deck by changing it out with an old one I've got laying around, which produced the same results. The antenna turn on and amp turn on are not hooked up at all. It's a fairly basic setup, just an aftermarket deck wired into factory speakers. It's my work truck so I can't really do any major mods to it, I'm just trying to put a Mp3 deck in so I don't have to swap CD's several times a day.

All the wires are labeled clearly, both from the aftermarket deck, and from the relocation harness. Could a problem like this occur if the wires were labeled incorrectly for the left front speaker? Like if somehow + and - were reversed somewhere in the harness? If I were to attempt to switch the + and - from for the speaker from the deck to the harness would I run any risk of blowing the speaker?

Having the + and - backwards would not cause this.It would only throw your speakers out of phase, then your speakers wouldnt sound good at all.

If you get the MET-GMRC01 you should be good, you dont even have to relocate your factory stereo.

Im thinking its got to do with the harness that you bought.
