Custom Audio in an 87 S10

          I just finished custom installing my stereo system in my regular cab s10.  I put 2Pioneer TS-G4640R 4x6's in the dash.  I have 2 Blaupunkt PCX-693's in the doors ( custom installed ), and 2 12" *cough* Jensen XS1212's behind the seat in a custom made MDF Sub-box.  Pushing the subs is an Urban Audio Works 4 channel 800 watt amp.  A Sony ECD-T1550 is the head unit of choice.  This system is the bestt sounding at my HIgh-School.  I was just curious what you guys thought.  Let me know.There are 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't

if it sounds good to you, and people you are trying to impress than it shouldnt matter what we think, as we dont know you and you seem very happy with it.  i would have gone with round speakers for the doors.  the midbass probably sounds a bit off.   i would have also gone with another deck, sony's arent known to sound the best except for their old school es line.  nice system for a single cab truck, pain in the a** to install with such little space.  did you do it yourself?  lots of room for improvement, but that is the fun part.

If you yourself did the installation completely, then I'd say you made a fine start into the world of car audio.  You can only go up as time goes by and you see opportunities for improvement.  "only go up" meaning that you've learned through experience.Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

next step would be to power those coaxs with an independant amp. also being a single cab, i dont see any reason to have 4 coaxs. i would take the 4x6's out of the dash and stick with the 6x9's alone. most likely the volume with be less with 2 pairs than with 1 pair. i found this out the hard way in my truck. actually, i made a profit off the speakers i sold, but you get my point.

           How would the volume be less with 2 pair than with 1. I don't understand.  The Head-Unit is a 4x50 watts, so each speaker is on its own channel.  I don't understand how the volume would be less with 2 pairs of speaker compared to one/There are 3 kinds of people in the world, those who can count and those who can't
