this might sound crazy and/or stupid, but is there anyway to hit 165-170 db with 4 woofers? Out of curiousity, because i saw this guy with the trophy for 1st place using 4 woofers hitting 170.6. That is crazy. He did it with 4 18" MMATS Juggernauts. Insane if you ask me...

What i meant was do you know of such a sub that can do that high of a number? With four of them. His trophy says so, but i want to know if you know of one. Trophies can be made custom you know.

well frankly it all depends on the mic.   the audiocontrol is very unrealible and van be anywhere from 10 db off per show!   the term lab is sick the the world record is still standing at 177.7     The highest I have seen is a 174.2 in person at finals this year.    And a friend of mine has the world record for super stock with the vehicle running he hit a 160.5, which on the audio control could easiely be a 170

God won't grant me a priest, i want to know a woofer type that can do it if such exists. I don't care what mic. Lets just say a true 170 db.

Read the post that opened this thread - I think you made it...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Well, just for pure numbers Here are the finals results for Iasca. There are plenty of 170's in the bunch.
What exactly are you looking for here,a brand is it possible or how to do it? I bet if I use 4 clarion thunderdomes or 4 thunder 1,000,000s I can hit much more then 170.

In the right vehicle I am sure you can do 170 with 4 18 Juggernauts. Anyone remeber the orange pumpkin that was using a single sub and was putting up absolutly rediculous numbers. The whole vehicle interior had been redone and rebuilt making it basically a mdf cabin with windows in it. It can most definatly be achieved, just not by the average individual.
