anyone know the speaker polarity (positive+/negative-) for these Ford Focus 6x8's?

i bought them second hand from eBay and i'm installing them into a Ford Econoline Van that as of now has no speakers in the factory designed speaker holes.

i don't want them out of phase from one another. i know you can test tone a signal through them, and if you have it wired correctly the speaker should push out upon signal input, NOT suck back in, that would denote they are wired in reverse. is this correct?

any help, much appreciated, Brian

Brian, take a small 9v battery and touch the + terminal on it to one of the inputs and take the - lead and touch it to the other. If the cone moves outwards then the + is hooked to +. If the cone moves inwards then the + is hooked to the - terminal.

You can use a battery (AA, C, D). You can solder a wire to the + and - on it and touch both sides of the speaker and see if it moves out or in. If it moves in, reverse the wires from the battery. Then you will know which side is + or -.  The positive to postive will cause it to move out.
