After reading and what not i decided to hook up the illumination orange wires together from deck to harness, they were previously insulated so i twised them and caped them together. When i tryed to turn on the deck it just sounded like the speakers turned on then off. Couse i have caused a blowen fuse? I have many fuses and i dont know how to check if their good or not. My car is hooked up with an amp so could i have blown the fuze on the amp? or is their a fuze in the deck? i know theirs 2 inside the engine bay. So is their any other possibilitys? what could be wrong. Ive cut the cap off so its 2 free wires like how it was in the begining but it still dont turn on. Does free extra wires Have to be caped?

i usually tape them to prevent shorts. anywyas, sounds like a blown fuse. get a flashlight and start searching. most likely it is the radio fuse which your car will have a map/diagram telling you where it is in the "fusebox thingy"

Usually you'll see black soot inside the blown fuse,  or the filament will look black in a spot.  If it doesn't look like an un-blown fuse,  it's blown.

some decks have fuses in the back of the deck near the antenna wire.

check all the possible fuses for the deck with a dmm. sometimes it is hard to tell. if thats not the case check all the wires that supply power and ground. actually, do the latter first. if none of the above, you might have fried the deck and you should take it to a shop to get it checked out

Most head units have a RESET button  hidden somewhere.....   Try hitting that a few times

Thanks guys for suggestions, unfortunetly none have worked. Taking it to a car audio store for trouble shooting is my last option it cost around 100 to trouble shoot so i rather have a new Head unit, its  time for change. Buf if their is anything else i could do to try touble shoot it myself that would be appreciated. If not what HU are good? I currently have an ALPINE CDA-7893, and i was thinking of buying a clarion DXZ745MP, is their other good units out their?

Jeez....what car audio store are you bringing it to?
If there's a Tweeter Etc.  around there,  ask them if they can bench it for you.  Usually they're nice enough to do it for free....if you ask them...
