Hey wuts up everyone this is my first post on here.

I just got a 2002 wrx and i installed my system (2 12" Alpine Type R Subs powered by a JL Audio 500/1 AMP, and a stock head unit). After installing it i turned it on and i am not gettin any power to the amp. So i checked the power wire and even replaced it and i cleaned up my battery terminal and i am still getting no connection. So i figured maybe it has something to do with the remote wire which i originaly connected it to the ACC Switched power wire behind the radio (According to this site http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/modifications/misc/wiring/radiowrx.html) which is wire 10 on that site, so i tried the wire number 14 shown on that site which is listed at (Unused Remote turn on).

And that is the farthest i have gotten i cant figure out what else it could be. Is there a fuse inside the amp? Any help would be great thanks.

Check your ground. make sure you have 12v at the terminals at the amp.(use a multimeter or similar testing tool). if you cant get a true remote turn on from the factory deck you can use the auto turn on switch located on the front of the amp that will turn power on at the amp when it senses signal input. You may run into a problem using this method however, sometimes it will stay on or turn on when the radio is off. your best bet is to find an accessory power lead (behind the radio is fine) and use that to turn the amp on. also the JL amps are made so that line out converters are not necessary, you can feed speaker level right into the RCA jacks and select (hi) on the hi/lo input level switch.

good luck

car audio pays my bills...
