Ok my sub amp is broken so i took out the sub for now. and until my new amp arrives i wanna try to get more midbass from my components. I dont think i had it set right anyways. I have the Infinity Kappa Perfects 6.1 CS. The amp currently powering then is a ALpine Mrv t320. I have attached a picture of my amp where the xover settigns are located. Can you guys please give me some advice on where to set the settings? I currently have them in full range hp and lp filters off its giving me lotta bass but im pretty sure im not suppose to run in full range. Also ill give the specs of teh components. THanks. also if it helps my deck is a ALPINE 9831 4V preouts.
Frequency Response (±3dB):     75Hz - 23kHz
Sensitivity:     90dB
Impedance:     4 Ohms
Crossover Frequency(ies):     3.5kHz, 24dB/oct
Xover in doors is set to flat 0db.
OK since the p ic didnt wanan show here is the xover pic     anyways maybe someone knows how to get it to show here? anyways their we go

There is no problem running the amp with the filters off.  If you notice the woofers bottoming out or distorting at higher volume, then you will want to activate the high-pass (HP) filter and set it to somewhere between 80 and 100 Hz.

The gain looks kind of high.  What's your head unit and how did you set the gain?

oh the picture is from the alpine manual and it had those lines pointing to each set of knobs explaing what they do gain is low its on the notch to the left of the nom postion gain was set using the 3/4 volume thingy. and the thign is i know my gain isnt set bad i co uld set it higher because at 3/4 volume it still doenst distort. Head unit is a ALPINE 9831 , putting out 4V and the MIN postion is the 4V side but at this setting it doesnt even distrot at 35/35 volume so i increaed it a bit becasue my rear spekaers distort at about 24/35 deck volume (rears powered by deck) so i increased gain just a bit so the fronts are loader than rears. how do u know if the bottom woofers are bottoming out or distorting i dont know how to tell?

This is why there is a fade control.  It reduces power to the rears without upsetting the gain level matching.

You'll hear crappier sounding mid and high levels if too much bass response is going to the woofers.  The overall sound will be broken up, not as clear and precise as you heard it before the change.

so i could lower the gain to the actual MIN postion which is 4 v on the alpine amp correct? but does it really hurt by having it higher a bit? i know hwat you mean know when the volu me is really cranked the tweeters making this harsh soudn the clarity really breaks up so i have to turn down the volume but the thign is i wanan be able to listen to the speakers l oader its already very load w/o distroting with all doors cloosed in car u can here every beat outside of the car. BUt i want them to be able to go louder, im runnign about 80WRMs to each, but i might just buy a new amp give em more power (150WRMS*2 @ 4ohms sound good). Basically i want it so loud that you get ringing noise's in your ear for lisetning for liek 10 seconds. Not that i wanan do this all the time i just want the ability.

No, it shouldn't, because there is likely less than a full 4 V input.  Set the gain using your ears to judge (but if they're ringing you better wait for awhile and try again!).

Also, you may want to learn what mild distortion actually sounds like. I find it _HIGHLY_ unlikely that 35/35 on your deck isn't introducing some distortion. If you're used to hearing it many people can't tell the difference. I'd buy an autosound2000 gain setting cd. There are a bunch of useful tracks on there. I think some of the best tracks on there for new 'sound quality' listeners (and anyone who wants minimal distortion) are the ones that gradually step up the distortion from track to track. It'll help you learn what to listen for. Amplifier / gain / head unit related distortion is not equal to severe bottoming out (which is what your rear speakers are probably doing) or some other sort of mechanical speaker noise. It is more subtle than that.

oh i can definitly here the rears bottoming out but they rated for 15WRMs each. but the components able to take much more power so its harder to tell. Where can i purchase the cd is able to be downloaded and burned i dont wanna wait for shipping. I will purchase it it can be downloaded and burned. But i have a test tone generator program....i could just genetate the correct tone's and burn them to a CD and use it i bet. But is it wrong of me to expect some decent midbass up front from the infinity woofers in the door. these thigns were huge when i installed it i never seen a magnet so big it was heavy too.like i know they are movign i can feel it pusing air onto my feet.

If you prepped the doors with damping on both outer and inner skins, and sealed up the spaces and gaps in the mounting surface skin....yes, you should expect big bass sound.  But if you didn't damp the doors well, then the bass freqs are likely getting dissipated by the sheet metal.  The mounting surface of the speaker must be solid, too.

OK i dont think their is any kinda dampening my doors rattle liek hell. I gotta deaden the doors then for more bass upfront from the components. The thign is do i need to but the woofer in enclosure. Like those plastic baffles ive seen on the net for weather protection? I dont have anythign like that now i know i shoudl too....... Just these damn mid woofers are HUGE. i mean about 2.5 inches deep.
