Are kenwood ampa any good?  I had one that did pretty well bridge running two mtx 12 svc.  I am wanting to get a kenwood 1000 that is 400x1 at 2 ohms, mono amp.  Or a kenwood 800 that is 460x1 at 2 ohms.  Why is the smaller amp more powerful?  Also which ever one I get will be powering a kicker cvr 15 DVC 4 ohms each.

My friend has the Kenwood 800 running 2 250rms subs and it is producing more than enough power, really good amp, seems to pull a lot of current though.

You mean it dims the lights?  I am getting a 99 grand am Saturday, will it dim the lights on that?  But why does the 800 make more than the 1000?  Also will it push a 500 watt rms 15 inch kicker?
