Ok I asked this in another post but no one answered so, I can get the 10w7 for pretty darn cheap. If doubling cone area only adds 3db then there shouldn't be a huge difference. I mean I know TS parameters are not exact but the 2 are very close. The 10 still beats like all hell right?

Whell, the 10 has the same cone area of a normal 12" sub, , but has the excursion like you have never seen before.  From what iv heard, the 10's are compareable spl wise to middle of the road 15" sub.

So my 750 watts, which is a little more than what JL recomends should make my jeep rattle. Would this be too much for the 10?

I have heard a 10 inch W7 outplay to 12 inch Type Rs. The type R's might not have been in the best box possilbe but both the W7 and the type R's were powered by a JL 1000/1. It's not that great of a comparison but still...it shows the W7s kick ass.

What subs (if any) do you have right now? You probobly wouldn't be able to notice that much of a difference between the 10 w7 and the 12w7 except in extension.

The 10W7 and the 12W7 will each hit very hard.  I've seen one 12W7 rattle the factory antenna loose on a new honda accord.  (the antenna looks like a little dome, like a satellite radio antenna).  The tens hit very hard as well, but you will definately notice the difference.  I'd consider the type of music that you will be listening to when making your size decision.  I doubt you will be dissatisfied with either one though.

Well right now I have the very wonderful Type x 12. Wonderful because it makes you wonder how a speaker could be so inefficient. 1000 watts and man it don't do hardly a damn thing. I'm sure a new box would help it but I know it wont make it do what I want it to do.

No I just ordered it today. I won't be here till next week. I'm gonna build a wood box this weekend just to get me by, and I can get back to work on my fiberglass box, but the design will need some tweeking now that I need alot more airspace.
