Hey everyone, have already received helpful advice with other questions. Have a 2002 pontiac sunfire with monsoon head unit. Have installed a 10"sub with amp. I took signal from amp at speaker connections in rear using line level limiter. Speed control volume no longer works, is this due to tapping into speaker wires. Secondly, will this setup work, i have read that tapping into speaker wires after factory amp can cause problems. Please advise. Thanks.

I can't tell you one way or the other. The reason people say not to tap into speaker wires is because the amps sometimes have built in crossovers which cut certain frequencies. Bose often does this, but you'd have noticed your bass was lacking by now.

Tappping into speaker wires should not have affected it. All the Delco radios I have seen have seperate wires just for the speed control. I have not ever seen the Monsoon versions though. How did you tap, with a harness, splicing, etc.?

I spliced into the speaker wires. The speaker is fed on one side by a black and red wire, then they span across the bottom of the speaker and are connected to the opposite side. This is the point at which i spliced into them.
