I had this guy come trough with a amp to hook up that he bought off me.Now at first  told him I can do the job for a price but he refused and said his uncle is going to do it i was like ok.So the next day he came back and said he ran everfything and just wanted me to hook up the amp I was like i ussually charge but this time i won't seen he bought like $350 worth of stuff so when i went to hook up the amp he had a power wire to hook up the ground. So all i did was hook up the power and the remote because he didn't know. When i hoked up the power wire up the amp went into smoke i disconnected it right away i was like what the hell didn't know what happened and was like here is ur money back give me my amp and left because i was tight felt like i was set up.And i should have checked all the wire's to make sure but he refused at first when i offered. The amp is working but think it fried something not putting up enough power. It is an experience that i don't want to go trough again.

then dont allow yourself to get into these situations.... i would tell a customer we dont do fractions!!      i mean 1/3 of an install or 1/8th of an install.... it's 100% or nothing....... that way if there's a problem it's your fault and you dont have to eat it because someone else pounded a screw through a speaker wire and you never bothered to meter everything before you hooked up power and ground........

trust me... in the 24+ years i've been doing this i've learned that almost invariably it's the one job you do for free that is going to come back and bite you in the a** !!

Man you should have known something was up. Why would he run wires and then come ask you to hook em up?

That and well, that isn't your responsibility to refund at all...  He ran the wires, as long as you properly attached to the amp, you did your part of the install(which the 100% install is better) and anything that happens is beyond your control.
