whats the scoop on the hifonics brutus BX1500D mono amplifier. is it a good amp. does it push out 1600 watts like the salesman at the store told me. is it worth 400. let me know something.

I own the BX1500D its a nice amp but not worth 400 bucks I assure you, pick in up on ebay for around 200, and no It wont put out 1500 watts at 1ohm mine was benched at 1146 watts

Otherwise I have found it to be a great amp, and I have put it through some torture

man are you serious 1146? That bench testing they do is everything accurate? Like 14.4volts etc...? I am running mine at 2 ohms right now 1000 watts but it is probably like 650? That is crap how can they do that?

8 Years ago when I hade my old Hifonics amp it would have put out what it said, but maxxsonics bought them out awhile and something must have changed,

I dont know, It may be a bad amp on my part but Im not to worried about it cause I barley paid anything for the amp and its more then what my cheap audiobahns will ever want

Take it to a shop and have them bench for you, it shouldnt cost you more than $25.00

I jsut got one off ebay for about 220 with shipping. I havn't had the chance to even open the box it was shipped in yet ... maybe spring break

yeah i am going to have it benched, if it is not close I think I will have to not buy anymore hifonics products.
