I have been seriously considering the Phoenix Gold Octane 5 channel amp but after doing a search it seems they may not be of the quality I am used to. The system will be going into a 2004 GTO, so trunk space is limited and the amp(s) will be mounted vertically against the fuel tank (yes there will be a mounting board between them. The amp will power four 6.5" seperates and two 8"s for the subs mounted on the rear deck (remember NO trunk space - just enough for two hunting rifles and a cooler)
So those of you who are going to offer suggestions, this is what I am coming from.
1999 Durango
Alpine CDA-D855 head.
Audio Control 4.1 (will be used in the GTO).
Clif Design 6.5" seperates in the front doors. (Old School)
DiamondAudio 6.5" coaxials, with a seperate crossovers mounted in the pillars. (Old School)
Cerwin Vegas "Vega" series 12" pair fro the subs (Old School)
Rockford 240.4 for the fronts and a Rockford 500.2 for the subs. (original old school)
Wiring to all the speakers is 2 conductor shielded, power is routed under the vehicle inside the fram, RCA's were fed down the center of the cab and the respective speaker wires down each side.
Also, 39 sqft of Dynamat.
Now with this knowledge, I am not looking for SPL, it is SQ I want to win. (The Durango never placed lower than third place in the five events I entered). Any sugesstions for 5 channels of amp will be appreciated, but please - I am in the position spend a grand on just the amps.
Thanks in advance,
Ross

Did a check for dealers in my area (San Diego) - none.
If you are familuar with the brand what about the Xtant4.4 with the mono channel for the 8's?
NOt to sure what the rules are on this forum but if you know what they are, can you either post or PM me price ranges?
(the only time I really heard the Xtant was at the CES a few years ago when a company from Ridgecrest did and install into an Explorer(?))
