i cant tell from first-hand experience, but i know that the solo x (even the 10s) have a real nice punch to them. i blv they are 2000 watts rms, am i correct? their sensitivity is rated pretty high as well, and i heard they take the rms rated power really well

I have never heard one, but the regular Kicker L7s are insane loud, I imagine the Solo X's would be even louder. Not much SQ (true throughout the Kicker line) but their subs will shake the block!

my shop had one in an eclipse. we built a 10 cubic foot box that had changable ports. we only put 2400 watts to it. (the 18" handles 5000 rms, and on the box we built with the right port it could do 10000 rms, test tones) and it was a bad mama jama. we only did 154 db on an old mic, but thats only because the port placement was bad. it still beat out a guy that was running two w7 13"s and twice the power by 1 db. we built it to look good, not for an spl car,  and that sacrificed some of it's more impressive qualities. suprisingly it was the best sounding speaker i've ever listened to.  kikcer has sponsered a vehicle or two that have actuallly won SQ comps with this sub. another guy actually caved his van in. maybe i'll put some pics up. bottom line- amazing sub.
