OK, new subs for my explorer. I have been in bass withdrawl for almost 7 months since my old pioneers sounded their last bass note (curse you lil jon). Anyways, I'm getting 2 of the new 05 comp vr's (dual 2 ohm) and a phoneix gold xs2500 amp. I have a good clairion deck that I love, and worked great with my old subs, so I am not worried about that. I am just wondering if i am missing anything. I have a kicker amp running my door speakers and am concidering adding additional 6x9 speakers somewhere in the back, but thats just an idea up in the air at the moment. I am also going to be installing my 2 screen dvd system at the same time. So here's my questions:

1. Am i missing anything with the sub amp situation? Also, any suggestions would be great.

2. Should i get a deepcycle/dry cell battery? I really dont have much experience and dont want to go to a car stereo place and feel pressured to buy one. Will it be an asset to my system?

3. I bought a cap, but i see this is highly debated on whether they really do their job. So should I just send it back, or use it anyway (it was relatively cheap, so I dont care either way).?

Thats all I can think about for now. All help or suggestions woudl be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Cindy

Sounds pretty good. As far as deep cycle dry cell. Unless your adding a second battery dedicated to your stereo or you plan to listen alot with the car off I wouldn't  bother. I have 3 amps in a vehicle with a plain ole battery. If you drain a regular battery dead it does take a toll on it. Doing it repeatedly will lead to an early death. Dry cell  doesnt suffer from that. Again if you're not listening for long periods of time with the engine off it won't be a concern.

As far as the cap I guess it can help if your headlights are dimming when the bass hits. You've already got it so if you want to use it go for it.

Those comp vr should keep your vehicle pounding bass for years to come.

The system looks good overall, my buddy has 2 CVR 12s in his car, they hit really hard. I havent heard the '05 model yet. I really dont like the way they look, especially compared to previous models, but who cares as long as it sounds good right?
A deep cycle battery wont hurt at all, I would get one if you were planning on getting a new battery anyways, I think they run $30-40 more then a normal battery.
I would forget about the cap, it WILL NOT help if your lights are dimming, it will only make things worse. Try and sell it, it seems there are always people in the market for caps.
Its a possiblity that you will need a high output alternator, you are running a decent amount of amp power. But then again I know a guy with a Explorer who has two PG amps running two Kicker L7s and another amp running the mids/highs and he still has the original alternator, so you might be okay.
