I'm going to be putting an Alpine SWE-1242 in my truck. Now I need an amp.
Right now, I'm looking at either a Pioneer GM-5100T or a GM-7100M.
I'm not sure how much power that 250 watt sub will actually be able to take... Which is why I'm not sure which amp to get.
Please give suggestions on these 2 subs or I'm open to other suggestions of reasonably priced amps in this power range.

I'd go with the GM-7100M. That will give you 250 RMS. By going over RMS, you risk shortening the life of the sub. The risk is probly minimal, but you most likely won't notice any difference with the bigger amp anyway.

are you running a ported or sealed enclosure? ported takes less power to bottom out sub. but i agree and wouldnt recommend overpowering the sub to try and get more bass cause it will eventually blow the sub.
