Ok, I have 2 MAAudio 1200Xls and a Visonik V918XD. Now, the amp will run down to 1ohm at 1500rms at 14.4. The subs are Dual 4 ohm coils if I run them in parralle it will bring them down to 1ohm. I need to know if this is going to be ok on the subs. The output of the amp will be 1ohm does that mean that all four coils will recieve 1ohm?

First, the speaker doesn't "receive" ohms.

The ohm rating on the speaker is the resistance of the voice coil. You can't change this with simple wiring.

You can change the _total_ load the amplifier "sees" by wiring multiple coils in series or parallel.

To make this clear:

* the speaker doesn't give a hoot about whether you run it parallel or series, total system load of 50ohms or .5ohms. It only cares about overheating and reaching maximum excursion.

* the amplifier, on the other hand, cares a lot about the resistance load it sees from the speaker system. Resistance drops, current rises. This is why you get more power when the resistance is low. This also places a lot of stress on the amplifier. The amplifier runs hot. The amplifier distorts more than normal. The amplifier may fail.

So, don't be concerned about your speakers (other than over-powering them), be concerned about your amplifier.

Why do you care so much about 3db? Are you planning on competing? Or just ruining your hearing faster?

Comp is what I am doing with a tiny budget I what to make sure this right. So, all should be good? The subs are 600RMS so 300rms per coil which will bring it to 1200RMS for all four coils ran and installed right I will not have to push the amp to make do to the fact of over powering my subs I belive its better to have more power then not enough power. I apprecitate you input dude thanks for the help.
