With the current 12" Brahma, what is the distance from whre the woofer sits on the wood to the highest point of excursion? (I am building a box wiht a protective cage and want to know how much room to leave and every inch counts)

The surround sits about 1" proud from the mounting point, so 2" should work just fine.
