2004 Cavalier have GM'S DATA BUS? What if your car dosen't have this. Is there a less expansive harness. i mean i know the system in my car it is basic all it hass is a cd player and i want to up grade it.   I heard that if the radio dosen't say RDS System then it  is like the older model set up and no special harness is neeed. is this true.

RDS has absolutly nothing to do with it being a class two system. Thats one of those things that got started by someone who didnt know ttheir ass from a hole in the ground and it somehow managed to spread about. You definatly have a class two system, just like what kgerry said
double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

I stopped and asked the dealer and the guy thehe said  he has never heard of that unless it has the bose audio system. maybe I will just get rid of the problem. Seams easier.

it's really not a problem... just buy the Metra GMRC-01 interface and plug it in.... finished..... i think you may be overcomplicating this..... it's a 20 minute install.....
