I know that this brand is sold at Wal Mart, but does anyone know if their caps are any good? I would like to know the difference between a cap that does and does not have a remote turn on lead.
Thanks

Most caps are made by 1 single manufacture. The difference between the 2 caps, is that the one with a remote lead has a volt meter that turns on and off when the system is turned on or off,,the cap always stays "on" like a battery.

Why do you "think" you need a cap?  I can bet you money you don't have a clue how useless those are if you don't have a big enough power supply in the first place ( higher output alternator)

The one we have has a volt meter on it. I don't see a remote turn-on lead on the top of the cap. It's going in my wife's 99 Grand AM. Her headlight dim everytime a bass note hits. I haven't really looked for a higher output alternator. I just know it's a pain to swap it out.

Adding a capacitor WILL NOT help dimming lights without a sufficent electrical system! This topic seems to come up daily. Run a search on capacitors for more info. or check out www.bcae1.com . I'm going to suggest a sticky for this subject. One that is titled: Do I need a Capacitor? Hopefully that will clear up things a bit.

WOW...
Seems everyone here is against capacitors? Then what purpose do they serve and why do they sell so well?

They sell well becasue most guys at futureshop, best buy circuit city or even stereo specific shops tell people they need them,And most people that buy car audio stuff honestly do not have a clue about it so they take the salesmens advice. The same as you see alot of people with huge sub/amp systems using stock or very cheap speakers since all they want is huge bass.

They sell so whell becuase there flashy and alot of misinformation has passed around and hit all the newb's in the car audio world.  People who don't know crap suggest a cap to fix every problem and morons believe it.
