I'm working on a 2001 Sierra C3.  It has the factory cassette head unit with the GM 6 disc indash, it is the same setup as the 01-02 Denali's.  This truck has all replacement MB Quart speakers and a 10" sub/amp.

Recently, the rear drivers side speaker stopped working, I got it to work some, but at a very low level along with the other rear speaker.  All the connections were checked and were ok.  The truck has a new battery.  Also, the amp isn't turning on, but has all good connections.  The low level convertor is pulling off of the driver's rear speaker.  However, the amp wont turn on at all and is tapped into the switched 12 v on the radio.  I can't figure out what is going on.  Could the factory head unit be bad?  Any other ideas? Thanks!

I would run a small jumper from the battery to the remote turn on input at the amp to narrow the problem down.

"is tapped into the switched 12 v on the radio"

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the radio doesn't have a switched 12v.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Aftermarket amp or stock amp?
