Ok, we put a stereo system in a 2004 monte carlo, somehow the door chime is running through the stock radio....  We put 12" Devinchi, w/ memphis 5 1/4' components both are running off seperate amplifiers (memphis).   When we open the door on the car, the door chime SCREAMS so loud you could hear it several houses down.  We are assuming the chime is being amplified by the Stereo equipment but we dont know how to disable the chime,  we dont want to reroute it, we just want  to take it out of the circuit completely.

WIth Regards,

Jason of MSE.

they make a piece for that car that we call the chime box.  you dont have to keep the factory radio in the car b/c it has a computer chip in it and all.  the chime comes form a speaker inside the box which eliminates it coming from the car speakers.  in addition, you can clip the speaker wire and eliminate the chimes all together.
If you say "I already know how", don't ask me a single question.
