Anyone w/ a Scosche FAI-3A Line Output Converter... i just ordered one off of SoundDomain for use with my factory deck & aftermarket amp...

Does anyone know if this comes with a generic speaker wire input harness or do i have to purchase one separately??  In the picture, it does not look like it comes with one (like other Line Output Converters).  Thanks!

Question:  Approx. how much signal loss is there when you use a Y-adapter to split the 2 channels of the RCA outputs to make a 4-channel?  A lot?  I'm asking this because I am finding it hard to tap into my front speaker leads and thought this would be a viable solution if i can't tap the fronts???

What is the vehicle and have you found the factory amp?

bmw z3 coupe... i found the factory amp in the back, however the harnness is wound up pretty tight... i already tapped the factory Harman kardon subwoofer to feed the 1st set of inputs of my LOC, and am wondering how much signal i'll lose if i use 2 Y-adapters instead of tapping for the other 2 channels???

Chances are that the factory amp also has a internal crossover for the subs. So this means that if you are going to be interfacing for the front speakers, you need to find the front speaker output wires. Do not tie them in with the sub.

Rob is right.  It maybe easier to try catching signal for the fronts at the kickpanels.

I was in a jam and had to pick one of these up @ Walmart. There are no wires included you basically put your wires under the set screws. The one I got didn't have any type of instructions with it either, although not exactly brain science..

The one that came in today from SoundDomain had no speaker wires leads... couple questions:

-Can i use any wire (like different color 16awg-18awg) from places like Home Depot--I'm crimping and splicing into the factory amp... not wanting to solder, and definitely do not want to use a tap, so i'll be short on room using a non-insulated butt connector and heat shrink.

-I've searched here and haven't found the exact way to set the gains on the LOC itself PRIOR to setting the gains on the amp.  I would like to use a DMM for this as well.  Should i be trying to get a readout of 4Vac on one of the bridged channels?
