87 Prelude Si Stereo Install

Im running into a problem with installing the deck into my 1987 Prelude Si. I have ran all of the wires correctly so far. Here's what I ran... Stock Yellow/Red > Red on Deck Stock Blue/White > Yellow on Deck Ground > Black on Deck (of course) I went to turn the car on to make sure the deck works, and it didnt turn on. So I checked all the fuses, under the hood, under the dash and behind the deck. They are all good. How can I get this deck to work? Please help, I am installing it tonight. Thank you.

if you have a DMM handy check for voltage on your yellow/red and your blue/white if you dont have voltage present( or enough voltage) you may have an issue or two within the factory harness and may require running some new wires. i find catching them from the ignition harness to be easiest in most cases.

where do i run the new wires?

If you can get to your ignition harness you can splice into the white wire and hook it to your yellow wire on the radio and splice into the BLACK / YELLOW for the red wire. do not cut these wires and hook them to your radio as they control your ignition. i will suggest verifying the wires with a DMM to insure they are correct incase of any changes in your car and then splicing wires and also double check your ground as well you may have to ground it to the chassis because to factory ground wire may be bad as well.Professional Installer
