Are there any solid solutions for hardwiring your iPod into your existing system?  Not exactly ready to drop the dough for a BMW that has it built in.

I have a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3, with the Blaupunkt Audio.  It has a CD Changer option available, that I don't have installed.  Couldn't I mod that and send an out to the headphone jack???

Any ideas, let me know.

Later,

Cheesy ad?  I don't think so.  What am I advertising?  J asked me to post up the link I had because he wanted to get an iPod the same way I did.  The free site.  Why do I need to advertise something everyone already knows about anyway?

Either answer my question or stay out of the thread - I thought this would be the right place to find someone who could make this modification to my stereo.

Hey, so that adapter doesn't work for the Focus ZX3.  Seems there's an issue since the CD Changer is in dash.  Anyone have any other solutions?  Thewre has to be someone out there who's done this with a Focus ZX3.

Does the CD player have an auxiliary input ( RCA type ) ? If so you can use a simple "y" adpator with a 1/8" mini plug that will use the iPods headphone jack. Just looking at other options for you.

Thanks Jeff, but I already looked into that.  None on my Blaupunkt....The problem seems to be that it's a built-in changer, and the product above is for changers that are not internal.  I saw an article about the Focus that actually indicates it's not a "real" Blaupunkt system (which would have said RCA jacks).  Any other ideas?  I live in the Tampa Bay area in Florida.  If anyone knows of a good custom stereo shop, that would be helpful.  Thanks.

Thanks Auex - that looks right.  I'm going to call a local dealer tomorrow and ask a few questions...I'll let everyone know if it will work.
