Well I was just wondering if someone can please help me out......i'm some what a rookie when it comes to car audio...but can someone please be kind enough to show me on how i can go about on testin a 500/1 monoblock amp by jl audio. basically i had bought an amp from a friends firend....and i'm just wondering if someone can write me a list of the things i can test for on the amp to see if everything on the amp is working properly and doing what its suppose to do and secondly if the amp is pushing out the right amount of watts it suppose too....please any replys is greatly appreciated...thanks in advance....

P.S. when writing the list of things to check if the amp is legit and working properly.....please make a note of the procedures i need to go through in order to adchieve that test....

EXAMPLES:

- Find out if the amp works and turns on properly - Steps: connect the power lead to a constant positive (12) volts......and connect the ground wires to the the body chassis of the car ..........also connect the remote wires from the amp to the the head-unit....the power light should turn on...if its good...and if the lights doesnt turn on then its broken

If you have a local car audio shop they should be able to bench test it for you.
