Hello, I am new to this forum so please dont bite my head off. I'll try to explain things the best I can. I would like to know what amp would be best for my 2 JL Audio 12W4. I have them wired to make a 4 ohm load. I had a Fosgate 100x2 hooked up to them but it took a turn for the worst and doesnt work anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok well if you have them wired to 4 ohms then it means you have the DVC model correct? Or are you running them in stereo right now? Well if you are running 4 ohm mono then I can recomend a MTX 3002 or 4002, Rockford 3002, Kicker KX200.2 or a JL300/2, just off the top of my head. If you were running them in stereo then you should really mono those suckers and get a two ohm load and go with a mono block amp. Maybe reply back with that little tibit of info so I can make sure that those suggestions I gave you will hold true. Also those subs can handle more power than the RF was putting out so the other question is do you want more power than what you had or was that sufficent for you. The kicker amp is the same power the MTX 3002 and RF 3002 and Jl300/2 are a little more power and the MTX 4002 is roughly double plus a little what your rockford was. But either way there are some suggestions to get you going. Whats Avalible to you locally?

Ravendarat, thanks for replying so quick. Yes I have the DVC model sorry i forgot to add that. My RF did ok but i knew them subs had more potential, so i could go with an amp that had a little more power than my RF. Locally i can get all 3 types of amps, but if i really wanted a certain amp i would just get it off line if it wasnt available to me locally. Thanks

I was looking at the kicker amps, what if i went with a KX250.2 or a KX350.2 would any of those make them subs work for their money?

I wouldnt hesitate to use a 350.2 if you like the kicker stuff but the MTX4002 is more power and probally less money

So your saying that the KX350.2 wouldnt have any problem pushing my subs? I have been finding the KX350.2 for cheaper than the MTX4002 so i think i am probably going to be going with the Kicker. In your opinion is the KX350.2 more powerful than my old Punch 100x2? What would you recommend if i went with a mono amp???

It has nothing to do with getting more power OUT OF your subs because they dont make power they consume it. You can only wire to one ohm if the amp is capable of working at one ohm mono. I would stick with 4 ohm and use the kicker 350.2 you are looking at and you should be good to go.

What do you think about the Rockford 551S Amp? Ya think that will do the job?  I've found a couple for a little over $100.
