Can someone give some ideas. I would like to put some sounds on my car (Nissan Altima 96). I use this car for work but my daugther uses it on weekends. I want install some speakers & amps but don't want to spend to much money on it. I'm afraid she might get stop by the cops because it's to load or have it stolen. I guess what i'm asking is something cheap but sounds good.

(I do have an alarm on it to start with.)

So if anyone has any ideas please send me the info.

Speaker size (Front-Rear) Type

Woofer size - Type

OK so you wanna stay inexpensive but you want an upgrade from the factory. Fair enough. Are you keeping the stock head unit? For speakers you can look at something like Pioneer or type S alpine, both of which are inexpensive speakers. For a Sub amp, if you are buying online I would look on Flee Bay for some last year model MTX stuff that generally goes fairly cheep, this years Rockford stuff has been rocksolid as well. If you are buying locally it would help to know what is delt in your area. For a sub I would look at a MTX 5500 or a JL W0 series as well as some of the entry level eclipse stuff. Crossovers are generally built into what ever amp it is you buy and with the level that I think you are going for, an outboard is not nessasary and is money better spent on the speakers or amps. For single sub sizes I would look at mabye a single 12 inch sub in a sealed enclosure if you are going for more of a sq system, which is what it sounded like to me. Te reason why I didnt list a spcific amp is because the sub woofer you buy will determine what amp you need. If you are replacing the stock head unit with an aftermarket one then adding an amp for the speakers is probally not nessasary to attain the sound you are looking for  however if you are using the stock head unit then I would look at mabye doing a  4 channel for the speakers or mabye a 5 channel to do the whole system. If you are looking at the 5 channel road then mabye take a gander at the MTX 895 which is a nice 5 channel with a decent amount of power that leaves you some options as far as woofers go.

Dude I live in Saskatchewan, Canada. You have a  better Idea of whats in Chicago then I do. Grab the phone book and just look up electronics, or stereo in the yellow pages and start calling around. I doubt one place would have every thing I listed. I was just throwing ideas out. For what its worth I know that Circut City has MTX and that Best buy has Rockford and I believe Alpine. I think that both stores have pioneer and for JL you will need to check in with a small chain store or an independant shop.
