I can't find a HO alternator with enough amps to power the Brutus amp I bought. I knew I needed a more powerful one, but the most I can find is 185 amps for my car. I need around 240 amps and can't find it anywhere. Also, when it idles the alternator only shows around 10 volts. This is the one I got from Alterstart and have sent it back for them to repair. The Brutus is 2200 watts RMS and has a 180 amp fuse. I have it for sell in the buy/sell section. I don't see any way to get the power I need to run it. I have e-mailed KES alternators and Dominick and I am waiting on their replies. Any other advice on what to do? I hate to sell it but using 2 alternators isn't an option.

Why dont you have a local or one within a 150 mile driving radius Alternator shop build you one or just have them wind up that alterstart to 250amps

I had to do that for my wifes civic except I only went to 150 amps for her Brutus 1500D

Just a thought

I can't locate a shop that rewinds alternators that will up the amps, only go back with what I have already. Also, the alterstart people told me that I can't get that much in the case that goes on my Supra. I e-mailed mechman also, along with the other two I mentioned earlier. If anybody knows of a particular place that I can get what I need let me know.
