hi, jus wanted to know what would be better for an spl application( 12 inches)-

-team rf 12 inch

-idmax

-re mt or xxx

-pioneer spl5000

any other suggestions!

Adire Tumult 12" when it comes out. This is a bit of speculation, of course, but the spec's look awesome. This would be the "SQL" solution.
I have no doubt the other subs you have listed would rock for pure SPL. I'm an XBL fan, so I'd go with the RE XXX from your list.

budget is anything under £1500 per sub and im looking at maybe a good quality spl or even sql sub. but more spl over sq. thanks

1500 pounds sterling?  Are you in Britain?  If you have that kind of cash available, dump ALL of the options listed in your first message and go for something like a set of Adire Tumult, Magnat Bulldog, Aura NS12, Linn servo subs, or Tympany LAT.  You'll have money left over.
