2005 Lincoln Navigator stereo wiring

hello.

i need to install an amp while maintaining the factory radio in a 2005 Lincoln Navigator

anyone do this yet? anyone have any tips for me? i appriciate it. thank you.

i was going to use a line out converter, from the factory subwoofer wires.

when i looked at the wires there was a

PURPLE , GREEN, BLACK with a Green tracer , and BLACK with a white tracer.

so in total there was 4 wires going to the sub. any idea which ones i should splice into in order to conect the converter?

I don't have my books at home, but if you are trying to tap it at the head unit, then I can tell this: of those 4 wires(seperate 8 pin plug - Right?):

there is a signal ground(Chassis), 4 or 5 Volt amp trigger wire, and the other 2 are a mono sub audio (the + and -). Not sure of the signal level in the sub out, you'll probably need a LOC or amp w/spk level inputs. I think I have a diagram of the pinout I can forward on 5/9/05.

I don't have the colors or pinout at the subwoofer itself - the only diagram I have is off the radio harness end. If your going to take the feed off the factory amp, I would follow geepherder's suggestion & test for dvc & polarity.

soundgate makes a cool piece....it uses speaker leval audio signal to create a turn on....I think It's called a trigspkr

I used one in  my 99 jetta....perfect
