I only have a 4 speaker system and after setting it up I went to fade to rear only and the speaker coming off the amp are the same I need to be able to fade front speakers off, can this be done by just switching the radio speaker wires to the other leads on the radio.    thanks

What's the head unit?  What's the amplifier?  How's the HU sending its signal to the amp?

I'm new to this amp thing, it's a 2 channel with the rear speakers connect to the amp the  front to the radio. I switched them out and it fixed the fade problem but now the amp speakers sound muffled and lower volume then with amp off.

check all your settings, make sure you have it on full and not a LP or something like that, or have it on HP, make sure you have it comming out of the correct set of rca's on your cd player, make sure it's not the non fadeing subwoofer outputs

Also check the electrical phase between the speakers connected to the amp (+ to + and - to -)
