Hi, whts up? I'm new to the forums, I run a small custom shop in my spare time (all I do is SPL guys) anyways i have been building box's ported and sealed for quite awhile and recently a good friend came to me with a cut through truck (camper top, entire back of cab cut out) he has a volfenhag zx4715 15inch sub, he is just wanting to use the one sub with 500rms from some old class d amp, He had a ported box in there for awhile with 2 12's and it didnt to much at all.  so i was told to build a bandpass box for it that it would respond to it better, ie-more spl with cheap stuff (thats what local meca judge said).  I have bassbox pro 6 and it is calling for a box with 9.62 cu ft in chamber 1 and 3.36 in chamber 2 with the port inside chamber 2, port would be 3x9x13.36 tuned to 38.04 Hz and have .20875 cu ft. of air space.  I have never built a bandpass and would like to know how this would sound, how loud it would be, and any suggestions.

Bandpass boxes are usually really "peaky", meaning their frequency response isn't really flat, but that probably doesn't matter if this is an SPL system.

What is bassbox pro, and where did you get it from?

I have a Jl bandpass box with 12 inch w3, I have this in a semi truck that has a 86 inch bunk  that is  8 feet high, there was so much room to fill up, so i went bandpass, all i can say is this set up hits hard and sounds great.  I like the sound of my semi system better than my car. If you got a lot of space to fill a bandpass box that is  built correctly around the sub you have is the way to go.
