At my work for evenings i need to run a RCA patch cord from a main security tv to a vcr 100 feet away approximately. If i used just plain 16 awg speaker wire and put rca ends on there, will i have a video problem by the time it reaches the vcr? I will have to do the same for the audio as whell but that im not to concerned about.

IIRC, isn't the maximum for RCA close to 100FT without the use of an amplifier? If so then you're pushing it.

Don't use unshielded speaker wire for a video feed or it will be a very noisy signal. Run good shielded coax cable - RCA.

That's what I'd say too. I'd also pick up an amp, I believe you can get them at Wal*Mart for under $30

I agree. You can get premade coax with ends, then just buy the twist on f-conn to RCA adapters.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

So the best choice i have is running some RG6 coax, putting rca adaptors on the ends and if needed, amplify it with a booster, correct?

That's fine. When new houses are prewired for media setups, the cables used for component video are usually RG6, and I've never had an issue.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
