Pioneer DEH-P6700MP Aux Jack

A friend of mine is getting this head installed. He is getting the auxiliary cable put in also for his IPOD. On 99% of the heads I have every dealt with, the aux jack on the back is a set of male/femal RCAs. Is the head different. The folks at the shop want to chrge $30 for a aux cable, that if I am thinking correctly, can be bought at radio shack. Simply RCA on one end, 1/4" plug on the other. Am I right and does this head have male or female RCA for aux jack on the back?Thanks!

Nope, you arent right. There is a pioneer adapter that is used to change the din cable into an aux input. The shop is right to be charging this pricedouble-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

yeah it is the CD-RB10. The CD-RB20 does the same thing, except it allows you to add a pioneer CD changer..   If this is something you might be interested in down the road, I suggest getting the 20, because the 10 won't allow aux input and a changer.

Howabout auxilliary and SIrius or XM

dependng on what xm rig you have, you can get by with the 10. i had the pioneer xm tuner that had a pioneer ip-bus in and out, and what you do with that is plug your aux input adapter into the xm rig, and the xm rig into your head unit. if you are getting one of thoes new universal deals, i would think they wouldnt have a bus in and out, so you might want to go with the 20. if i remember right, it is only about 10 bucks more.

On the pioneer's you can make your own if you have a changer cable. Not really going to go into it but it isn't that hard to figure out.Certified Security Specialist
