I just recently purchased the Avic-N1 as part of a New Car purchase (GMC Envoy).  The sales rep from Tweeter assured me before I purchased that it would be seamless and I would lose no functionality in the car.  Now he states that there is no way to get the audio to work correctly with a Bose amplifier and OnStar.  I have no fade, audio is greatly diminished, and unit intermittently turns off completely. I have to push the OnStar button on and off to get power back to the unit.   It is a major issue right now between the dealership, Tweeter, and myself.

Does anyone know if this incompatability is true or if there is a work around. I love the N1 unit, but no rear sound is a problem.  I would appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks in advance

You need a Bose interface and a Onstar interface, both made by PAC.

Use a Soundgate Digistar-X, you'll get Bose interface, Onstar & chime generation in one package. A lot of the newer Bose systems don't give you a fader option when you change out the HU.
Experience gained is directly proportional to the amount of equipment destroyed - break it & learn!
