after installing a couple of ice link ipod interfaces for BMW, the customers soon came back claiming a lot of noise was coming through the system.  the noise got louder with the RPM of the vehicle.  well, it turns out that the company that makes these put the pin for ground in the harness in the wrong spot.  its in the 3 pin harness with red, blue, and black wire (ground wire is the black one).  moving the pin or wiring a jumper will take care of the noise issue.  grounding it to the body will not help much because it causes a ground loop and the noise stays.

hope this helps
