I am replacing the factory stereo with a new Pioneer unit. Can anybody tell me what is the difference between "Dimmer" and "Illumination" wires in the factory harness? The new unit only has one wire labelled "illumination". I am assuming the "dimmer" won't be connected. The factory harness also has a green wire (not a speaker wire) that is not listed on any diagrams I have found. Any help would be appreciated.  Any help would be appreciated.

Dimmer wire dims with the lights ( from 0 volts to 12 volts ) and the illumination wire goes to your parking light wire ( 12 volts when lights are on ).
