I am building a new box for my 2 12" thunder 8000s, and im building it to exact specs according to mtx/ bass box pro. My question for all of you is... how should i face the subs for best spl??? the box will be most rectangular except for a slanted face  to minimize standing waves. So should i lay the box on its side with the subs facing the back hatch, face them up and towards the back hatch, or up and towards the front??? It is only a slight angle on the face.

THanks

Kenny

Usually you will get better bass with them facing the rear. I have found that facing them toward the front is the worst in most cases. Just try them different ways and judge for yourself.

I have a 01 Grand Cherokee. I'm running a 12" w7 and if I turn it any way other than faceing the rear, it makes quite a difference. For my setup back is best facing up is OK and facing front is worst.
