1996 Cherokee Radio Mount

Some one decided to help me out by removing my (factory) radio. I guess they thought the extra weight was effecting my gas mileage or something. Anyway, I have an aftermarket headunit and tried to put it in. I guess they took something in addition to the radio because there must some type of mounting bracketry missing. Can someone explain or post a pic of how the radio is supported in the dash? Is it a sleeve the headunit slides into or just bent plate brackets that bold on to the side of the radio? Any help would be great. This is the non-Grand Cherokee by the way.  Thanks.

That's exactly what I needed.  I had seen the metal plate on the underside of the dash but didn't notice the dovetail clip you referred to.  That makes since now.  I was wondering how they supported a headunit with just two screws/brackets on the front side while leaving the rear end hanging in the dash.  It doesn't look like it will be too difficult to bend something up to wrap three sides of the radio and catch that clip over top.  I really appreicate your help.
