comp vr12 subwwofer wiring question

i want to wire 2 subwoofers they are both dual 4 ohm subs . how can i wire both subs down to 1 ohm.  also what does the red dot and black dot mean?  is that to identify the two voice coils?  thank you

DVC 4-ohm woofers can be wired at either 2-ohms (both voice coils in parallel) or at 8-ohms (both VCs in series.)  If you have two DVC-4-ohm woofers you can create a total 1-ohm load (assuming your amplifier can handle a 1-ohm load) by wiring both speakers for 2-ohms (VCs in parallel) and then wiring the two speakers in parallel at the amp.  Your owner's manual should tell you what the dots mean, I don't know.
